Continuous Potato Peeling Line – Tong Engineering & Sormac Equipment

This continuous potato peeling line combines reliable Tong Engineering handling equipment with efficient Sormac peelers to create a complete solution for high capacity potato processing. Designed for consistent product flow and dependable performance, the system is well suited to processors looking to streamline their peeling operation.

The equipment moves potatoes smoothly from cleaning and peeling through inspection, treatment, and final product safety checks. With trusted machinery from Tong and Sormac, this line delivers both efficiency and durability in demanding production environments.

Equipment Included
Tong Engineering De-Stoner

The process begins with a Tong de-stoner, which removes stones, soil, and heavy debris from incoming potatoes. This stage protects downstream equipment and ensures cleaner product enters the peeling process.

Two Sormac Continuous Peelers

The line includes two Sormac continuous peelers designed for high capacity peeling while minimising product loss. These machines efficiently remove potato skins while maintaining consistent throughput for industrial potato processing operations.

Tong Engineering Surge Tank

A Tong surge tank regulates product flow between processing stages. This buffer helps maintain a steady supply of potatoes through the system and prevents bottlenecks during production.

Tong Roller Inspection Table

The Tong roller inspection table allows operators to visually inspect peeled potatoes and remove defects. Rotating rollers spread the product evenly, improving visibility and making quality control easier.

Tong Dip Tank with Dosing Unit

A Tong dip tank with integrated dosing unit allows potatoes to be treated with anti-browning or preservation solutions. This step helps maintain product appearance and supports shelf life after peeling.

Loma IQ3S Metal Detector

The final stage of the continuous potato peeling line is a Loma IQ3S metal detector, which checks the finished product for metal contamination and helps meet food safety standards.
